The Department of Fisheries and Processing of Aquatic Products consists of two departments: the Department of Fisheries Technology and the Department of Fish Processing Technology.

Department of Fisheries Technology:

The main research areas of the Department of Fisheries Technology include the determination of biological diversity and stocks of economically important species in our seas and inland waters, the conservation of fishing resources, the development of fishing technologies and the investigation of application possibilities for sustainable fishing, as well as studies on fisheries management and determination of fishing bans.

Department of Fish Processing Technology:

The main objective of this department is to conduct research on ensuring that fish and other aquatic products obtained through fishing and aquaculture are delivered to consumers under hygienic conditions. The Department of Fish Processing Technology carries out undergraduate courses on Fish Processing Technology, Cold Storage Technology, and Food Microbiology, as well as their practical applications. In addition, research is conducted on the chemical composition of aquatic products, salting, drying, smoking, marinating, cold storage, freezing, ready-to-eat food technologies, HACCP plan, packaging, quality control methods, and the utilization of discarded fish.
